The season opener for the 2014 racing season at Senoia Raceway is set for Saturday, March 29th.  The opening round of competition will feature qualifying, heat races and feature events with six divisions racing.  The Jodeco Auto Sales Late Model, Newnan Bonding B Cadet, Senoia Drug Company Mini Stock, Hobby Stock, Bomber and Modified Mini will return as weekly classes this year.

“We are expecting a good return of veterans this year,” said promoter Tim Moses.  “There have also been a few new drivers at the pre-season practice sessions.  Plus, we have heard from a couple of rookie teams.  It should be a very good year racing wise.”

Fayetteville’s Glenn Morris leads the contingent planning to defend their 2013 Senoia Raceway titles.  Morris bested the competition in the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models while Alabama’s Roger Arnett claimed the crown in the Newnan Bonding B Cadet.  Newnan’s Bobby Arnold, Michael Nelms and Joe Spencer return to defend the Senoia Drug Company Mini Stock, Bomber and Modified Mini division championships.  Carrolton’s Clifton Moran will be seeking a fourth straight title in the Hobby Stock.

“This is the first year since Tony and I have been operating the track that all of our champion have returned to defend,” said Moses.  “Moran is the only driver to have mulitple titles during our tenure.”

The pit gates will open at 5pm on Saturday, March 29th.  Grandstand gates open at 6pm.  The drivers will take the track for hot laps beginning at 7:30pm with racing set to go green for the first time in 2014 at 8pm.

Ticket prices remain the same with grandstand admission set at $12.  Children ages 6-12 are $5.  Kids five and under are admitted for free.  Pit passes are $25 with children ages 3-12 $12.  Kids two and under are admitted into the pit area for free.

Trackside parking is available on first come, first serve basis and includes access to the pit area.
