Fletcher makes it to the finals in both races in Pro Bike

July 18’s Summit ET event was a double race with no Jr. Dragsters.

Super Pro – Gary Got it Dunn – 34 car field – Gary Dunn from Flowery Branch in a ’82 S-10 owned by Winston Brooks, defeated Susan Spikes from Commerce, in her “98 Mills Dragster.  Gary gave thanks to Winston Brooks, Stacy Blanton and Bailey Dunn (crew chief).  In the final round Gary ran a 6.13 ET on a 6.19 dial in at 109.98 mph with a .023 reaction and Susan ran a 5.66 ET on a 5.66 dial in at 122.24 mph with a foul.

Third place went to Matt Bates from Loganville in his “37 Ford Roadster.  4th was Hank Wilham from Gainesville, GA in his Chevy Dragster.  In round 4 Gary beat Thomas Bell in his Undercover Dragster.  Round 3 Gary went up against Doug Richardson’s ’02 Miller Dragster.  Round 2 Gary defeated Jesse Young and his “03 Spitzer Dragster. The first round Gary defeated Jeff Stanford’s ’87 Spitzer Roadster.

Pro – 26 car field- Winner Greg Allen from Greenwood, SC in his ’80 Camaro, went through the 26 car field.  Greg had not won in Atlanta in 10 years.  Greg thanked Don Finkell for his help and sponsor-American OEM Wood Floors.  Greg was very happy we could get two races in one day and still be finished by 8:30 p.m.  In the final he defeated Steve Wagner from Jefferson, GA in his “69 Dart.  Greg ran a 6.93 ET on a 6.93 dial at 100.33 with a .016 react.  Steve ran a 7.45ET on a 7.39 dial in at 85.60 mph with a .040 reaction.  Third place went to Allen Long from Ball Ground, GA in his’68 Camaro.  Greg had a single into the final.  Round 4 Greg beat Woody Bryant’s ’68 Camaro.  In round 3 Greg won against Fred Mason and his ’88 Mustang.  In the second round he went up against Sue Wilson and her ’86 Chevy S-10.  The first round Greg defeated Bill Boomhower’s ’65 Plymouth.

Sportsman – 20 car field – Russell Haskins from Marietta, GA in his 2013 Mustang won the race of a 20 car field.  In the final he defeated Ed Nalley from Carnesville, GA in a ‘83 Chevy Truck.  Russell ran a 12.46ET on a 12.46 dial at 113.85 mph with a .079 reaction time.  While Ed ran an 11.55 ET off an 11.50 dial at 113.18 mph with a reaction time of .043.  Third place went to Allen Schaffe, Jr. from Austell, GA in his Dodge Diplomat and 4th place went to Dickey Forrester from Hickory Flatt, GA in a ’68 Camaro.  In the third round, Russell beat out John Snapp from Conyers, GA in his 2014 Mustang.  Second round Russell faced Nick Wagner’s ’04 Neon and in the first round, he defeated Michael Couch’s Nova.

Pro Bike – 6 bike field – The winner on his ’89 Suzuki, was Tim Sutton from Clermont, GA, who defeated David Fletcher from Lawrenceville, GA on his ’84 Kawasaki.  Tim ran a 9.13 ET on a 9.10 dial in at 137.51 mph with a .007 reaction to David’s 8.93 ET off an 8.89 dial in at 145.00 mph with a .011 reaction time.  In the semi’s Tim defeated Jimmy Heisler’s ’00 Kawasaki for 3rd place.  In round 2 Tim got a single run.  Round 1 Tim beat Andrew Patterson’s ’07 Suzuki GSXR.

Street ET Bike – 9 bike field – Randy Barnett won the 2nd race of the night with a 9 bike field.  Randy is from Colbert, GA and on his ’08 Suzuki GSXR defeated Andrew Patterson from Taylors, SC on his ’07 GSXR 1000 Suzuki.  In the final Randy ran 9.39 ET on a 9.35 dial at 136.69 mph with a .048 reaction over Andrew’s 9.34 on a 9.06 dial in at 143.12 mph with a .072 react.  Randy in the semi’s defeated Randall Long from Buckhead, GA on his ‘06 Suzuki and in round 3 Randy had a bye run.  2nd round Randy beat Jimmy Heisler on his 2000 Kawasaki and round 1 he defeated Brian Wilson on a Suzuki.
