SUPER PRO – 2016 Night of Fire Super Pro final was an all dragster affair.

Ray Lacount from Hull, GA in his Chevy dragster defeated Jessie Young from Buford, GA in Don Brown, Sr’s  ’01 Spitzer dragster.  In the final Lacount ran a 4.885 ET on h is 4.87 dial in at 142.54 mph and a 0.040 reaction to Young’s 4.689 ET on his 4.66 dial in at 140.30 mph and a reaction of 0.0042.

During the semifinals Young beat Michael Morris from Woodstock, GA in his ’01 Undercover dragster while Lacount had a single into the final.

PRO – A ’47 Hudson makes it to the final only to fall short to a ’84 Mustang.

Tim Polneszek from Nicholson, GA in his ’84 Mustang defeated Jody Blalock, Jr. from Winder, GA in his ’47 Hudson in the final.  Polneszek ran a 5.853 ET on his 5.85 dial in (dead on) at 115.55 mph with a 0.026 reaction time.  Blalock ran a 6.311 ET off his 6.28 dial in at 107.68 mph and a 0.036 reaction.

In the semi’s Polneszek beat division 2 champion Chad Brewer from Canton, GA in his ’74 Nova with Blalock getting a single into the finals.

PRO MODS – Johnny is the fastest

Johnny Philcher from Chancellor, AL in his ’63 Corvette defeated Keith Black from Dothan, AL in his ’63 Corvette.  Philcher in the final ran a 4.069 ET at 185.54 mph with a reaction of 0.063.  Baker lost traction and only ran a 4.811 ET at 110.63 mph with a better reaction of 0.026.

During the semi’s Philcher best John Thompson from Crestview, FL in his ’41 Willys and Baker beat Marcus Birt from Gray, GA in is ’63 Corvette.

SPORTSMAN – Sportsman final matched up Chevy Truck v/s Chevy Blazer

Sid Hopper from Gainesville, GA in his ’85 Chevy Blazer defeated Allen Long from Ball Ground, GA in his ’96 Chevy Silverado.  Hooper ran a 14.012 ET on his 14.04 dial in at 94.18 mph and a 0.051 reaction time against Long’s 17.337 ET off his 17.38 dial in (break out) at 74.94 mph and a reaction of 0.040.

Semifinals Hopper beat Dickey Forrester from Hickory Flat, GA in his ’68 Camaro while Long got a single pass.

SUPER PRO BIKE – A Georgia v/s South Carolina shoot out and Georgia brought a bigger gun.

Tim Sutton from Clermont, GA on his ’89 Suzuki defeated Angie Young from Anderson, SC on her Kawasaki.  Sutton ran a 5.631 ET on his 5.58 dial in at 119.76 mph with a reaction of 0.011.  Young ran a 5.666 ET off her dial in of 5.69at 124.11 mph with a -0.025 reaction (red light).

In the semifinals Sutton beat Scott Sagraisch from Dacula, GA on his ’80 Kawasaki while Young got a bye run into the finals.

STREET ET BIKE – Street bike final war GA vs. SC for state bragging rights.

Brian Wilson from Tallapoosa, GA defeated Randy Day from Anderson, SC.  Wilson on his Suzuki ran an 11.410 ET on his 11.41 dial in (dead on) at 117.58 mph and a 0.169 reaction time.  Day ran an 11.334 ET on his 11.35 dial in (break out) at 122.46 mph and a 0.184 reaction.

Semifinals, Wilson beat Lindbergh Simmer from Hull, GA on a ’01 Suzuki.  Day had a single into the finals.

JR. DRAGSTER (5-9) – First win in only 3 races for Malachi Edwards

Malachi Edwards (7) a 3rd generation racer from Jefferson, GA gets his 1st win ever in his third race over Aidan Anglin (8) from Maysville, GA.  Edwards wanted to thank his mom and dad, his nana and papa, Jeff Halsey and Brads Machine Shop.

Edwards ran 14.186 ET on his 14.08 dial in at 45.09 mph with a reaction of 0.141 and Anglin (9) broke on the line.

Edwards faced Stephen Skelton (8) from Cleveland, GA in the semifinals.  Anglin faced Cooper Hancock (6) from Commerce, GA.

JR. DRAGSTER (10-12) – Set of 2nd generation racers battle it out at the Night of Fire.

Cannon Stiles (11) from Winder, GA ran a 8.953 ET off his 8.96 (break out) at 71.41 mph and a reaction of 0.199 against Alexis Cagle (10) from Dallas, GA who ran a 8.856 ET on her 8.90 dial in ( worse break out) at 74.49 mph and a 0.124 reaction.

Cagle defeated Kimberly Vancica (10) from Lawrenceville, GA.   Stiles had a single into the finals.

JR. DRAGSTER (13-18) – Multi time track champion, 2nd generation racer Austin Carden scores a Night of Fire win.

Austin Carden (17) from Monticello, GA defeated Jordan Holly from Thomaston, GA.  Carden in the final fan a 7.937 ET on his 7.90 dial in at 80.30 mph and a 0.016 reaction time.  Holley ran a 7.966 ET off his dial in of 7.95 with a reaction time of 0.051.

Carden, in the semifinals beat Isaac Mc Daniel from Piedmont, SC while Holley defeated Jessie Daniel (15) from Loganville, GA.
