Atlanta Motor Speedway’s summer drag racing series, Friday Night Drags & Show-N-Shine, returns this Friday as drivers look to either establish or strengthen their positions within their respective divisions.
In the Domestic Advanced Division, Terry Bates will be looking to make his way back into victory lane after the defending division champion was dethroned last week. Jason Kinard topped Bates last Friday in his 1997 Chevrolet S-10, keeping one of the more dominant drivers at Friday Night Drags from claiming a first-place trophy.
Bates, who pilots a 1988 Ford Mustang, has been among the tougher drivers to beat this summer at Friday Night Drags. The Locust Grove driver claimed victory during the series points opener earlier this month in addition to a non-points win in May.
