Greg Van Alst Determined to Conquer Monster Mile Debut

DOVER, Del.: Miles’ Dover Motor Speedway can be intimidating for any driver making their debut at the demanding one-mile concrete oval.

Undeterred by the daunting reputation of Dover Motor Speedway, ARCA Menards Series veteran Greg Van Alst is poised to conquer the challenges that may await him in Friday afternoon’s General Tire 150, showcasing his unwavering determination.

The Anderson, Ind. native embarks on a journey to the northeast not just to secure his second top-10 finish of the season but also with a burning desire to reclaim the ARCA Menards Series championship standings, a testament to the fierce competition in the series.

With his Greg Van Alst Motorsports team putting countless hours into preparing their No. 35 Greg Van Alst Motorsports Ford Fusion for battle, he is determined to leave nothing on the table when it comes to the opportunity to claim his second career ARCA Menards Series victory.

“After the disappointment of Talladega, there’s a pep in our step heading to Dover this weekend,” said Van Alst. We had a really fast car last weekend; it just suffered some valance damage, which affected the handling of the car and hindered our finish.

“When we returned to Indiana, it was wide open, getting ready for Dover. I want to put our team back on top, and I’d love nothing more than to bring home my own Miles’ the Monster trophy on Friday night.”

With three races down and 17 to go in the ARCA Menards Series season, Van Alst acknowledges the intense competition. Points are tightly contested, and the championship title is up for grabs, setting the stage for an anticipated exhilarating race at Dover.

“Nobody has a clear advantage right now,” explained Van Alst. It’s close. Everyone has fast cars. We may not all have the best racing luck, but we are all out there until we put the best finish out there and collect precious points. Dover won’t be much different.

“It’s a combination ARCA Menards Series and ARCA East race, so you will have different drivers on different agendas, but you will also have a few more cars than you would anticipate. It will be good for competition, but we just have to stick to our agenda of a strong finish and collecting as many points as possible.”

This weekend, the family-owned team welcomes Holzerman General Contracting as the primary partner of the team’s No. 35 Ford Fusion for 150 laps of action.

“The ARCA season is a grind and I’m super blessed to have the support of new and current partners this weekend at Dover. “I am appreciative of Holzerman General Contracting believing in our team and agreeing to support us on Friday.

“I’m also incredibly grateful to CB Fabricating, Ledsome Automotive, Zaki Ali (Injury & Criminal Trial Attorney; 1-888-649-1-ALI), Delaware Valley Septic, Sewer & Storm, Pop’s Pizzeria, and Top Choice Fence for also supporting the team and being a part of our Monster Mile debut. I hope it’s a successful one.”

Since 2002, Van Alst has 41 ARCA Menards Series starts to his credit, one win, five top-five and 20 top-10 finishes.
