Isaac Kitzmiller Carries Momentum to Rockingham Speedway ARCA East Debut

ROCKINGHAM, N.C.: Following an impressive ARCA Menards Series East debut last month at Five (Fla.) Flags Speedway, rookie driver Isaac Kitzmiller heads to Rockingham Speedway riding the momentum of his first career top-five finish — and aiming for a repeat performance in Saturday’s Rockingham ARCA 125.

In the first race of his eight-event ARCA Menards Series East campaign, Kitzmiller — the son of full-time ARCA Menards Series driver Jason Kitzmiller — qualified fourth at Five Flags and ran consistently inside the top five.

Managing tire wear throughout the race, he secured a strong fifth-place finish at the checkered flag.

With his rookie season off to a solid start, Kitzmiller now prepares for the series’ highly anticipated return to Rockingham Speedway, a 125-lap showdown at the legendary 0.94-mile track in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont region.

Like many in the field, Kitzmiller has never turned a lap at Rockingham, but he’s eager to soak up as much experience as possible and turn that learning into another standout result.

“I learned a lot at Five Flags, especially about conserving tires and staying calm under pressure,” said Kitzmiller.

“Rockingham is such a historic track, and I’m excited for the chance to race there. I know there’s still a lot for me to learn, but I feel confident in the team and what we can accomplish together.”

Kitzmiller and his Doug Howe-led team will participate in Friday morning’s open practice session, which will give them valuable track time ahead of the second ARCA Menards Series East race of the season.

The team plans to unload with a solid baseline setup and will use the two-hour session to help Kitzmiller acclimate to the track while gaining crucial experience on a much larger and more aero-sensitive race track than Five Flags.

“I’m really looking forward to getting on track Friday morning,” added Kitzmiller. “This will be the biggest track I’ve raced on so far, so the extra practice is going to be huge for me.

“The team has a great baseline to start with, and I just want to make the most of every lap and build on what we learned and apply it to the rest of the weekend.”

Tackling another track discipline allows the teenager to expand further his already impressive and rapidly growing list of accomplishments.

The Petersburg, W.Va. native capped off his breakout 2024 campaign by being named the 2024 Grand National Super Series Rookie of the Year. He also secured the 2024 championship crown in the INEX Semi-Pro Asphalt Series in West Virginia, solidifying his status as one of the sport’s rising stars.

For Rockingham, Kitzmiller and Co. welcome Carter Machinery, promoting the Caterpillar (Cat®) brand as the primary partner aboard his No. 79 Chevrolet SS.

Carter Machinery’s humble start began in 1928, serving Virginia and southeastern West Virginia. As our customers’ needs changed over the years, we evolved by continually adding new products, services, and locations, with exponential growth occurring after our 2020 acquisition of Alban Tractor Company.

“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue working with Carter Machinery and hope to represent them well at Rockingham Speedway,” said Kitzmiller.

“Their support is amazing, and I hope to deliver a strong performance for them. It means a lot to have them back on board for a second race, and I’m looking forward to building that relationship as we

continue through the season.”

Entering Rockingham, Kitzmiller sits fourth in the ARCA Menards Series East championship standings, two points behind third-place runner Connor Mosack and 10 markers behind series championship leader Max Reaves, with seven races remaining.
