Shane Clanton announced at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show that he is leaving Kennedy Motorsports to form his own race team. Shane finished third in the World of Outlaws Late Model championship for the past two seasons. Clanton has twenty WoO Late model victories, and is one of five drivers who have won both the Eldorda Speedway’s World 100 and the Dream races.
Clanton plans to race nationally next season, but he stated that the Georgia – Florida World of Outlaws Speedweeks will determine if he continues to be a WoO regular.
He departed on Kennedy Motorsports on good terms. Kennedy stated that Clanton was following his dream to form his own team.
Clanton will continue to run a Capital Race Cars chassis.
