ARCA Menards Series at Watkins Glen International: General Tire 100 Post-race Notes

* Kaden Honeycutt (No. 17 Mohawk / MMI Toyota) scored his first career
ARCA Menards Series victory in Friday’s General Tire 100 at The Glen
at Watkins Glen International. Honeycutt took the lead from Carson Brown
(No. 28 Klean Freak Body Wipes Chevrolet) on lap 13 and led the rest of
the way to score the win.

* The win is the first in ARCA Menards Series competition for Cook
Racing Technologies and team owner Bruce Cook and crew chief Sean
Samuels. Honeycutt won two ARCA Menards Series West races for the team
in 2023 en route to CRT’s 2023 West owner’s championship.

* Carson Brown, who won in his first ARCA Menards Series start at Phoenix
Raceway in March, started alongside Max Reaves (No. 18 Cook Out Toyota)
on the front row and battled among the top three for the entire
distance. He led from the start to lap 12 and then outdueled Thomas
Annunziata (No. 70 JBL Toyota) to retake second with a handful of laps
remaining. Annunziata held on to finish third.

* Nitro Motorsports drivers finished third, fourth, fifth, and sixth
with Annunziata in third, Gavan Boschele (No. 25 Nitro Motorsports
Toyota) in fourth, Sam Corry (No. 15 Nitro Motorsports Toyota) in fifth,
and Isabella Robusto (No. 55 Mobil 1 Toyota) in sixth.

* Andrew Ranger (No. 53 Van Dyk Recycling Solutions Chevrolet) finished
seventh in his first series start since 2014. Ranger has four career
ARCA Menards Series wins on road courses, all at New Jersey Motorsports
Park from 2011 to 2014 and is the only driver in series history to win
more than once on a road course.

* Reaves battled a jammed transmission linkage and fuel pressure issues
to finish eighth. He started on the Sioux Chief PowerPEX Pole via owner
points after qualifying was cancelled due to early morning rain showers.

* Ryan Gemmell (No. 29 Ciferno Well Services / TC3 Turf Toyota)
finished ninth, his fourth career top ten finish in four career starts.

* ARCA Menards Series championship points leader Jake Bollman (No. 20
Nitro Motorsports Toyota) finished tenth. Bollman unofficially leads the
ARCA Menards Series standings by 12 over Ryan Vargas (No. 34 MMS / WAV
Motorsports Toyota), who finished 14th.

* The top 13 finishers were on the lead lap. The race was slowed twice
by caution, once at lap 21 for the scheduled mid-race break and the
second and final time on lap 23 for an accident off the final corner
involving Corey Aiken (No. 19 MMS / America’s 250th Ford) and Jason
Kitzmiller (no. 97 A.L.L. Construction / Carter CAT Chevrolet). Both
drivers were evaluated and released from the infield care center.

* The race took 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 46 seconds to complete;
Honeycutt’s winning average speed was 90.270 miles per hour. His
margin of victory was 3.492 seconds.

 

* There next race for the ARCA Menards Series is the Owens Corning 200
Presented by CGS Imaging at Toledo Speedway. The race is scheduled to
start at 7 pm ET on Saturday, May 16 and will be televised live on FS1.
