NASCAR Cup Series No. 66 team enters Memorial Day weekend race at Charlotte Motor Speedway
STATESVILLE, N.C. (May 19, 2026) – Pinnacle Mortgage Corporation is proud to announce its sponsorship of the No. 66 Garage 66 car to be driven by Timmy Hill in the NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway over Memorial Day weekend.
As one of the most meaningful weekends in American motorsports, Memorial Day weekend represents more than competition. It is a time to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, while also recognizing veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and all those who continue to serve their communities and nation.

“Pinnacle Mortgage Corporation is honored to be part of this extraordinary event,” said Kurt W. Strandson, President & CEO of Pinnacle Mortgage Corporation. “Sponsoring the No. 66 car during Memorial Day weekend gives us the opportunity to celebrate the spirit of perseverance, teamwork, and patriotism while paying tribute to America’s fallen heroes and veterans.”
For Pinnacle Mortgage Corporation, the sponsorship reflects the company’s broader commitment to service, integrity, and community. Guided by its tagline, “Trusted, Professional, & Experienced,” Pinnacle recognizes the importance of supporting events and traditions that bring families, communities, and businesses together around shared values.

The Coca-Cola 600 is known not only for its intensity and tradition, but also for its patriotic atmosphere and deep respect for the U.S. Armed Forces. Pinnacle Mortgage Corporation is proud to stand alongside race fans, military families, veterans, and the NASCAR community in honoring those who have served.
“This partnership is about more than a logo on a race car,” added Strandson. “It is about representing our company, our clients, and our community with pride, while remembering the true meaning of Memorial Day.”

In that spirit, the No. 66 car will carry the names of two fallen members of the U.S. Army in remembrance of their sacrifice: on the front windshield banner, Corporal Richard A. Bowman, and on the upper C-pillar, Major Robert P. Plamondon. Both men were killed while serving our nation in the Vietnam War. Garage 66 is honored to race with the names of these two American heroes riding with us on Sunday.

Major Plamondon served in the U.S. Army with tours in Korea and Vietnam. A decorated Army pilot, he was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Distinguished Flying Cross, earned for “especially valorous actions.” While serving in the 162nd Assault Helicopter Company, 12th Combat Aviation Group Despite in Vietnam, he volunteered and then flew a mission to carry essential food supplies and ammunition to weakened ground forces in Tay Ninh Province. He completed that objective having already flown missions for more than 12 hours on the day he volunteered.

CPL Bowman, known as Richie to his friends, deployed to Vietnam at just 20 years old as a Light Weapons Infantryman with the legendary 1st Cavalry Division in March 1970. Three months into his tour, while operating across the Cambodian border in Hua Nghia Province, CPL Bowman was killed in action by hostile small arms fire
“We are excited to bring Pinnacle Mortgage Corporation to our team for this Memorial Day weekend,” said Carl Long, co-owner of Garage 66. “We also welcome long-time supporting partner Coble Enterprises back onboard, alongside associate sponsors Impex Auto Glass and Southern Tier Security.”
Impex Auto Glass provides reliable auto glass repair and replacement services for drivers across North Carolina. Their logo will adorn the rear bumper of Timmy Hill’s No. 66 car.
“Some of our best runs at Charlotte have come with Timmy behind the wheel,” continued Long. “We had a very stable car last year, so we should have a good starting point for our setup. This is our first race with the all-new electrical system mandated by NASCAR, so we are working hard to make sure we have no issues with it rolling into the weekend.”
Practice for the Coca-Cola 600 is scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, May 18 beginning at 1:30 pm ET, followed immediately by qualifying at 2:40 pm ET. The 600-miler gets underway on Sunday, May 24 at 6 pm ET. Amazon’s Prime Video will carry streaming coverage of all NASCAR Cup Series track activity this weekend.
