HAMPTON, Ga. (June 5, 2026) – The third round of Thursday Thunder
concluded Thursday night with multiple drivers continuing their
dominance while others made the most of their opportunities to gain
valuable season points.
Jensen Jorgensen of Stockbridge, Ga., took home the victory in The
Associates Group Insurance Pro Division, holding off a strong run from
Kyle Bacon of Buchanan, Ga., who earned his best finish of the year with
a second-place result. The win was Jorgensen’s 49th career victory on
the Thunder Ring and helped him move into sole possession of the Pro
Division points lead.
Entering Thursday night’s action, Jorgensen and Jonathan Taylor of
Roswell, Ga., were tied for first in the division standings, one point
ahead of Nick Woodall of Canton, Ga. Jorgensen started on the pole, led
every lap and scored the victory, while Taylor finished third after
starting sixth. Woodall, meanwhile, was having a strong run until fluid
on the track derailed his night, ultimately leaving him with a
seventh-place finish.
While Jorgensen walked away with both the win and the Pro Division
points lead, Taylor remains well-positioned to challenge for the
championship, sitting just a few points behind the leader.
Acknowledging the opportunities and challenges ahead, Jorgensen spoke
about what a record-breaking fourth consecutive championship would mean
to him during his victory lane interview.
“I tell a lot of people I love that eagle,” he said, referencing the
championship trophy presented to the Thursday Thunder champion.
“I’ve got three of them on my shelf at the house that I look at…
but I want a fourth for sure.”
As the summer rolls on, Jorgensen will look to balance points strategy
and speed as he attempts to become the first driver in Thursday Thunder
history to win four consecutive championships in any division.
Casen Tate of Zebulon, Ga., took home the checkered flag in the
Incentive Risk Management Bandits Division feature. Tate led every lap
but not without a challenge from Camden Powers of Hernando, Fla., who
stayed glued to his rear bumper throughout the race. The victory was
Tate’s eighth career win at the EchoPark Speedway Thunder Ring.
Tate was not the only driver to lead flag-to-flag in Round 3. Bryce
Sanders of Ola, Ga., accomplished the same feat in the WJP Semi-Pro
Division, earning his third consecutive victory. Sanders’ win made it
three races and three wins for the driver of the No. 15 as he continued
to lead the Semi-Pro Division standings.
Carson Sherman of Loganville, Ga., also carried momentum from Rounds 1
and 2 into Round 3, capturing his third consecutive Incentive Risk
Management Outlaws feature victory.
In the Bennett Transportation & Logistics Young Lions feature, Turner
Brown of Alamo, Calif., started on the pole and took the checkered flag
for the second consecutive race. Josh Mullins of Columbia, Tenn.,
matched Brown’s performance, also starting from the pole and earning
the victory in the Circle C Auto Sales Masters feature.
Bryson Byrum of Alpharetta, Ga., took home the checkered flag in the
Incentive Risk Management Rookie Bandoleros division, while Evan Johnson
of Vancleave, Miss., won his second consecutive Racing Experience
feature in the WJP Investments Chargers Division.
