Pre-race Notes
* The ARCA Menards Series West will take on the one-third mile Madera
Speedway in the tenth race of its 2026 season in Saturday’s Madera 150
Presented by West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame. The race
will be the eleventh West race at Madera Speedway since the first in
1973.
* Trevor Huddleston (No. 50 High Point Racing / Racecar Factory Ford)
leads the ARCA Menards West standings by 35 points over second place
Mason Massey (No. 19 Mongoose Power Solutions Chevrolet). Huddleston has
two wins this season in back-to-back races at Shasta Speedway and
Colorado National Speedway, while Massey also has collected two
checkered flags in the season opener at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway
and on the road course at Portland International Raceway.
* Huddleston leads the series with a 4.00 average finish in nine starts
this season. Robbie Kennealy (No. 1 Jan’s Towing / Jan’s Racing
Ford) is second with a 7.00 average. Massey is third with a 7.44 average
while Eric Johnson, Jr. (No. 5 Pacific Office Automation Toyota) and
Cole Denton (No. 71 Jan’s Towing / Jan’s Racing Ford) both have an
8.00 average.
* Huddleston has won each of the last two ARCA Menards West races at
Madera Speedway in 2024 and 2025. In those two races, he has led 295 of
a possible 303 laps; he led all but eight laps in a 2024 race extended
by three laps and every lap in 2025.
* Three female drivers are entered, with Kenna Mitchell (No. 13
Sinister Diesel / Berco Building Materials Ford), Mia Lovell (No. 15
Pine Health Toyota) and Hailie Deegan (No. 16 5.11 Tactical Chevrolet)
all scheduled to make their first West starts at Madera Speedway.
* Hometown favorite Robbie Kennealy will look to better last year’s
fourth-place finish at his home track. Kennealy finished 20th in the
season opener at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway but has racked up
top-ten finishes in the eight races that have followed. He has a
season-best second-place finish behind Huddleston at Colorado National
Speedway.
* Ethan Nascimento will make his second start of the season fresh of
his first career ARCA Menards Series West victory in his only other
start of the season last time out at All American Speedway. The
Nascimento racing team, led by his father Eric Nascimento, Sr., has had
success in their limited starts in 2026; in addition to Ethan’s
victory at All American, older brother Eric, Jr. finished second in the
season opener at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway.
* The 21 cars entered matches the most entered for a West race in the
track’s history. The only other time that number of teams entered was
in 1996, a race won by Lance Hooper.
* Previous ARCA Menards Series West winners at Madera Speedway include
Jack McCoy (1973), Bill Sedgwick (1989), Doug George (1995), Butch
Gilliland (1996), Lance Hooper (1996), Mike Duncan (2003), Eric Holmes
(2009), Kaden Honeycutt (2023), and Trevor Huddleston (2024, 2025).
* Eric Nascimento, Jr. holds the ARCA Menards Series West track
qualifying record at Madera Speedway, set in 2023, at 14. 544
seconds/82.369 miles per hour.
* Butch Gilliland holds the ARCA Menards Series West race record at
Madera Speedway, set in 1996, at 68.571 miles per hour.
* ARCA Menards Series West races at Madera Speedway have been extended
into overtime on two previous occasions, in 2003 and 2024. Should the
race be extended into overtime, there will be unlimited attempts at a
two-lap “green-white-checkered” finish. Should the caution be
displayed after the white flag has been shown, there will be unlimited
attempts at a one-lap “green and white together” finish.
* The Madera 150 Presented by West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of
Fame is set for 10 pm ET / 7 pm PT on Saturday, September 26. The race
