A NASCAR doubleheader is on tap this weekend at Kansas Speedway as the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series continue their
respective Chases. Ford is coming off victories in both series a week
ago at Bristol Motor Speedway with Jake Garcia winning the first race of
his career and Joey Logano notching his 40th (38 with Ford).

MUSTANG ON SUMMER HOT STREAK
Mustang’s summer hot streak continued last weekend as Joey Logano won
for the third time this season and Ford captured its sixth Cup victory
in the last 10 races. Logano kickstarted the streak in July when he won
at North Wilkesboro Speedway and that has helped propel him through the
standings to where he’s now only 16 points out of the lead. The
three-time champ has three victories during this stretch while Ryan
Blaney has two and Ryan Preece one. Overall, Mustang has 79 wins in
NASCAR’s premier series with Logano’s 19 leading the way by one over
Ryan Blaney.
LOGANO CONTINUES CLIMB
ALL-TIME FORD WIN LIST
Joey Logano’s third win of the season was his 40th career NASCAR Cup
Series victory and 38th with Ford. That keeps him third on Ford’s
all-time series win list and only two behind second-place Bill Elliott.
Ned Jarrett is Ford’s all-time leader with 43 victories.

LOGANO’S KANSAS PLAYOFF SUCCESS
Joey Logano will be looking for his fourth career win at Kansas Speedway
this weekend, which would match a personal best as he has four at Las
Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. He won for the first time at
Kansas in 2014, and then did it again one year later in a
well-documented battle with Matt Kenseth that resulted in contact as the
two entered turn one with five laps to go. That controversial finish
marked Logano’s second straight playoff win and led to a sweep of the
round as he took the checkered flag the following week at Talladega. His
last Kansas win came in 2020 when he led the final 45 laps to beat Kevin
Harvick across the finish line and clinch a spot in the Championship 4.
KESELOWSKI AND KANSAS
Brad Keselowski has won at 17 different racetracks during his NASCAR Cup
Series career, including twice at Kansas Speedway. In 33 career Cup
Series starts, the Michigan native has a pair of victories (2011 and
2019), seven top-5 and 16 top-10 finishes. He’s led at least one lap
in four of the last six events and is coming off a sixth-place run
earlier this year.
CHRIS BUESCHER: “I would say that as we look ahead the
mile-and-a-halves were really strong for us at the beginning of the
year. I’d say that Kansas has become very quickly one of my favorite
mile-and-a-half racetracks to go to. It’s gotten so much character
through the years and the last several years it seems to have
accelerated. We have options as a driver to move all over the racetrack.
There’s a lot of things about Kansas that have just presented a pretty
unique challenge and it’s become a lot of fun.”

RIGGS STILL ON TOP
Layne Riggs looked destined for another good finish after he won the
first two stages at Bristol Motor Speedway last week, but a loose wheel
derailed his night and resulted in 32nd place finish that all but wiped
out his lead in the Chase standings. Riggs, who has won six times this
season, saw his 25-point advantage shrink to three with six races
remaining. Front Row Motorsports teammate Chandler Smith is third while
the ThorSport tandem of Ty Majeski and Ben Rhodes are fourth and ninth,
respectively.
GARCIA POSTS FIRST NASCAR WIN
Jake Garcia of Monroe, GA passed Stewart Friesen with 21 laps to go last Thursday
night at Bristol Motor Speedway to win the first NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series race of his career. As a result, Garcia became the 39th different
driver to win a series race with Ford and the first since Chandler Smith
did it in 2024. The victory also gave Ford nine wins this season and
includes a streak that has seen the Blue Oval capture seven of the last
10 overall.
